Hey, Neighbor!
We’re building a vibrant, inclusive community main street
Kennedy Street NW is a mixed-use, local-scale street in the northern District of Columbia. It is surrounded by one of DC’s fastest growing real estate markets, is safer than the city’s booming commercial districts, and hosts a diverse population with above-average owner occupancy rates.
The street has evolved with the neighborhood through several generations. Now the street is evolving again, and striving to serve a population that loves living here. In January 2014, a group of current and prospective business owners and supporting residents started the Kennedy Street Development Association (KSDA) to build momentum for development that matches our vision.
Our Vision is for a safe, walkable Kennedy Street that serves its current residents as a strong commercial corridor, while paying tribute to the history and diversity of the surrounding neighborhoods.

Here’s where we’re located
Kennedy Street NW is located in uptown Washington, DC, roughly between the metro stations at Fort Totten, Takoma, and Georgia Ave-Petworth. Kennedy is served directly by the east-west E2, E3, and E4 bus lines, as well as the north-south 62, 63, 64, 70, and the express 79 to downtown Washington. DC is planning a streetcar that will run along Georgia Avenue and stop at Kennedy Street NW, which would connect us directly to downtown Washington and Silver Spring within 5 years.
